The Air.POT is a hanging piece designed to grow air plants such as Spanish moss.
Aerial plants lack roots and feed on the moisture and chemicals dissolved in the air, which is why they are very efficient at capturing air pollutants, contributing in the metabolization of C02. Captured carbon dioxide becomes part of the pot itself, since it is 3D printed with microalgae-based biopolymer.
Reimagining the practice of gardening in the domestic environment as an act of caring for natural systems through biotechnology, the Air.POT is designed using advanced parametric modelling and bio-digital fabrication, inspired by the natural growth patterns of living cells.
Available in two versions: cream natural, made from compostable bio-filament, or green natural, made from algae-based biopolymer.
