Lot#04_Bio.Bombola

BioBombola is the original and world's first domestic microalgae photo-bioreactor.

Pioneered by ecoLogicStudio in 2021 BioBombola now enables individuals, families and communities to cultivate a small algae garden, a sustainable and affordable source of vegetable proteins. 

Each Bio.Bombola is composed of a single photo-bioreactor, a one metre tall lab grade glass vessel, able to contain 12 litres of living photosynthetic microalgae cultures. The microalgae grow in liquid culture medium with nutrients which constitute their habitat.

Bio.Bombola includes a small air-pump that constantly stirs the medium. The gentle bubbling keeps the algae afloat, aids oxygenation and produces a calming sound that emanates with the fresh oxygen in the surrounding environment.

Bio.Bombola can be easily assembled and dismantled, and only needs a single hanging point. The photobioreactor adapts to any environment, home, small lab, office and retail space.

It should be installed in a spot with diffuse sunlight or next to a grow lamp.
